Bundu Ama Community Outreach: Love in Action

On a bright morning in Port Harcourt, the HEALS team visited Bundu Ama, one of the largest waterside communities in Rivers State, for an outreach program that brought hope and compassion to hundreds of residents. The outreach, themed “Season of Love,” aimed to support and uplift those in need during these challenging times.

More than 500 bags of rice and essential household items were distributed to residents, ensuring that families had food on their tables and smiles on their faces. Beyond material gifts, the event was an opportunity to listen, learn, and connect with the community to understand their needs and challenges firsthand.

Our team discovered that while food insecurity is a pressing issue, there is also an urgent demand for better access to healthcare, sanitation, and health education. Many residents struggle with preventable illnesses due to lack of medical attention and poor living conditions. This reinforces HEALS’s commitment to expanding our programs to include regular health screenings and wellness initiatives in Bundu Ama and similar communities.

We are grateful to every volunteer, donor, and partner who supported this mission. The HEALS team is inspired to return to Bundu Ama even stronger, with more programs focused on health education, preventive care, and sustainable community support.

Live Right. Stay Healthy.
